Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Presales Technical Consultant for OpenText IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions. In this role, you will work closely with the sales team, providing technical expertise and support to position and promote OpenText ITOM solutions to enterprise clients. You will collaborate with clients to understand their IT operations challenges and design tailored solutions to meet their business needs using OpenText's ITOM portfolio.
This role is crucial in demonstrating the value of OpenText's ITOM solutions, supporting the sales process, and helping drive business growth by delivering exceptional customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

Develop a deep understanding of OpenText ITOM solutions, including key features, functionalities, and deployment architectures.
Stay up to date on new releases, industry trends, and ITOM technological advancements to provide accurate and insightful guidance during client interactions.
Leverage your expertise to provide technical leadership in client engagements, ensuring the appropriate solution is recommended based on client needs.

Sales Collaboration & Support:

Partner with sales teams to identify opportunities, qualify prospects, and define customer requirements.
Act as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, providing insights and recommendations to align ITOM solutions with customer objectives.
Participate in customer meetings to answer technical questions and clarify solution details, helping move opportunities through the pipeline.

Solution Design:

Analyze client IT infrastructure and operational processes to develop and design customized ITOM solutions that fit within their environment.
Provide technical architecture documentation outlining the solution design and implementation approach. Work with clients to ensure OpenText ITOM solutions integrate smoothly with their existing systems and processes.

Product Demonstrations & POC:

Conduct tailored demonstrations of OpenText ITOM products, highlighting features like IT monitoring, automation, hybrid cloud management, and service assurance.
Lead technical Proof of Concept (POC) engagements, showcasing how OpenText solutions address specific customer use cases and operational challenges.
Ensure demonstrations and POCs are engaging, practical, and focused on solving the client’s business challenges.

Proposal Development & RFP Responses:

Assist in creating technical proposals, RFPs, and other sales documentation to articulate the value of OpenText ITOM solutions.
Provide detailed breakdowns of proposed solutions, implementation timelines, technical support services, and expected business outcomes.
Ensure that proposals demonstrate how OpenText ITOM solutions meet customer business objectives effectively.

Training & Enablement:

Train internal sales teams and external partners on OpenText ITOM products and technical capabilities to improve solution knowledge and sales effectiveness.
Provide enablement on deployment best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and product configuration options.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders at customer organizations, acting as a trusted technical advisor for ITOM solutions.
Offer ongoing technical consultation, guiding clients through implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of OpenText ITOM solutions.

Market Insights & Feedback:

Stay informed about market trends, customer challenges, competitor solutions, and evolving regulatory requirements.
Gather customer feedback to influence future product development and enhance the OpenText ITOM solution suite.
Provide insights and feedback to product teams to shape the roadmap and competitive positioning of OpenText ITOM offerings.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications in ITOM, ITIL, cloud technologies, or related fields are a plus.

Experience:

Proven experience in a presales or technical consultant role within the ITOM space or related IT solutions.
Strong background in IT operations, monitoring, automation, cloud management, and IT service assurance.
Experience working with ITOM solutions from vendors like OpenText, Micro Focus, ServiceNow, or BMC.

Technical Skills:

Hands-on expertise with ITOM tools, including IT monitoring, orchestration, automation, and hybrid cloud management.
Strong knowledge of IT environments (networking, servers, databases, applications) and IT operations processes (monitoring, automation, incident management).
Familiarity with OpenText ITOM solutions and their integration with cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.

Communication & Presentation Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver engaging product demonstrations and workshops.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

Customer-centric problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose complex operational challenges and provide tailored solutions.
Strong analytical skills for understanding client environments and recommending the best ITOM solutions.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on ITOM technology advancements.
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, technical presentations, and industry events.
